David Semedo (NOVA School of Science and Technology) will talk about  AMALIA: An Open Source Large Language Model for European Portuguese.

Mariana Mourão (Institute for Systems and Robotics | ISR-Lisboa) will talk about Multi-scale Attention-based Multiple Instance Learning for Breast Lesion Detection.

Guest Speakers

Eduardo Castro (LTPlabs) will kick off with a presentation on the challenges of developing multi-agent generative AI systems in business environments. His talk offered valuable perspectives on the practical application of AI in today’s corporate landscape.

João Pereira (PhD candidate at FCT NOVA Lisboa in collaboration with DeepNeuronic) will take us through the latest developments in the use of large vision-language models for surveillance video understanding.

Rafael Maia (INESCTEC): As a Research Assistant at the Center for Telecommunications and Multimedia (INESCTEC), Rafael contributes his expertise, offering valuable perspectives on the latest developments in data science research.

Ana Martins (IEETA): Ana, a researcher at the Information Systems and Processing group within IEETA, delves into the academic aspects of data science research, sharing insights from her research endeavors.

UbiWhere kicked off the event with a presentation on the challenges on data science projects development.

Following that, Renato Panda, presented his PhD work awarded as APRP PhD best thesis award.

To close the event, Gonçalo Faria gave a talk describing the work developed under his master thesis, awarded as APD MSc thesis award.
