IbPRIA é uma conferência internacional co-organizada pelos capítulos português, APRP, e espanhol, AERFAI, da Associação Internacional de Reconhecimento de Padrões (IAPR).
A conferência IbPRIA consiste em artigos inéditos, apresentados oralmente ou em formato de poster, com o objetivo de servir como um fórum para grupos de investigação, engenheiros e profissionais apresentarem resultados recentes, melhorias algorítmicas e direções futuras promissoras em reconhecimento de padrões e análise de imagens.
Todos os artigos aceites são incluídos nas atas da conferência e publicados na série Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science.
IbPRIA 2023
The eleventh edition of the Iberian Conference on Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, IbPRIA 2023, will be held in Alicante (Spain), June 27-30, 2023. IbPRIA is an international conference co-organized by the Portuguese APRP and Spanish AERFAI chapters of the IAPR International Association for Pattern Recognition, and it is technically endorsed by the IAPR. IbPRIA consists of high-quality, previously unpublished papers, presented either orally or as a poster, intended to act as a forum for research groups, engineers and practitioners, to present recent results, algorithmic improvements and promising future directions in pattern recognition and image analysis. All accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings and will be published in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series. In addition, a short list of presented papers will be invited to submit extended versions for possible publication in a high impact journal to be announced. The following awards will be given at IbPRIA 2023: Best paper award, best student paper award (and additional honorable mention), APRP Ph.D. prize 2021-2022, and AERFAI Ph.D. prize 2019-22.Oradores convidados
Timothy Hospedales is a Full Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, where he heads the Machine Intelligence Group, and Programme Director for Machine Learning and Data Intelligence at Samsung AI Centre Cambridge. He has worked extensively on learning with limited data, with applications in computer vision, pattern recognition, and beyond; and received funding from the European Commission and UK Research Councils. He has published numerous papers in top venues such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, and PAMI, several of which have won best paper prizes and nominations; and recently co-authored a book on deep domain adaptation in computer vision. He is/was an Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Program Chair of BMVC, Associate Program Chair of AAAI, ELLIS fellow, and Alan Turing Institute fellow.
Nuria Oliver is a computer scientist with over 25 years of research experience in Artificial Intelligence, Human Computer Interaction and Mobile Computing at MIT (1995-2000), Microsoft Research (2000-2007), and as the first female Scientific Director at Telefonica R&D (2007-2016), the first Chief Data Scientist at DataPop Alliance (2015-present) and the first Director of Research in Data Science at Vodafone (2017-2019). She is co-founder and vice-president of ELLIS (European Laboratory of Learning and Intelligent Systems) and co-founder and director of the Alicante ELLIS Unit, devoted to research on “Human(ity)-centric Artificial Intelligence”. Between 2020 and 2022, she was Commissioner for the President of the Valencian Region on AI Strategy and Data Science to fight COVID-19. She led at team with ~20 data scientists and co-led the winning team of the XPRIZE Pandemic Response Challenge. She is honored to be the first female computer scientist in Spain named both a Distinguished Scientist of the ACM and an ACM Fellow. She is also a Fellow of the European Association of Artificial Intelligence (eurAI) and an IEEE Fellow. She is a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering. She has received a number of awards, including the King James I Award in New Technologies (2021), the Abie Technology Leadership Award (2021), European Data Scientist of the Year (2019), the Spanish Angela Robles National Computer Science Award (2016), European Digital Woman of the Year (2016), the Gaudi Gresol Award to the Excellence in Science and Technology (2016), the Spanish Ada Byron Award by the University of Deusto (2016), ACM ICMI 2014 10-year Technical Impact Award (2014), a Rising Talent Award by the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society (2009), MIT’s ‘TR100 Young Innovators Award’ (2004) and the First Spanish Award of EECS graduates (1994). Nuria has published over 160 scientific papers in international conferences, journals and book chapters. Her work has been widely recognized by the scientific community with over 21000 citations. She has ~40 patent applications and granted patents. Nuria is well known for her work in computational models of human behavior, human computer-interaction, intelligent user interfaces, mobile computing and big data for social good.
Gustau Camps-Valls (IEEE Fellow’18, ELLIS Fellow, IEEE Distinguished lecturer, PhD in Physics) is a Full professor in Electrical Engineering and head of the Image and Signal Processing (ISP) group, at the Universitat de València. He is interested in the development of machine learning algorithms for geosciences and remote sensing data analysis. He is an author of around 250 journal papers, more than 300 conference papers, 25 international book chapters, and editor of 6 books on kernel methods and deep learning. He holds a Hirsch’s index h=75 (Google Scholar), entered the ISI list of Highly Cited Researchers in 2011, and Thomson Reuters ScienceWatch identified one of his papers on kernel-based analysis of hyperspectral images as a Fast Moving Front research. He received two European Research Council (ERC) grants: an ERC Consolidator grant on “Statistical learning for Earth observation data analysis” (2015) and an ERC Synergy grant on “Understanding and Modelling the Earth system with machine learning” (2019). In 2016 he was included in the prestigious IEEE Distinguished Lecturer program of the GRSS.

IbPRIA is an international conference co-organised by the Portuguese APRP and Spanish AERFAI chapters of the IAPR International Association for Pattern Recognition. IbPRIA-2022 is technically endorsed by the IAPR. IbPRIA is a single track conference consisting of high quality, previously unpublished papers, presented either orally or as a poster, intended to act as a forum for research groups, engineers and practitioners, to present recent results, algorithmic improvements and promising future directions in pattern recognition and image analysis. All accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings and will be published in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science Series. In addition, a short list of presented papers will be invited to submit extended versions for possible publication in the Springer journal Pattern Analysis and Applications. The awarded papers will be also invited to prepare extended versions to be considered for publication in Pattern Recognition Letters. 4th Iberian Conference
IbPRIA 2009 (Iberian Conference on Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis) was the fourth edition of a series of conferences jointly organized by APRP (Associação Portuguesa de Reconhecimento de Padrões) and AERFAI (Asociacion Espanola de Reconocimiento de Formas y Analisis de Imagenes). This year, IbPRIA was held in Povoa de Varzim, Portugal, June 10–12, 2009, and was a local joint organization of ISR (Instituto de Sistemas e Robotica), INEB (Instituto de Engenharia Biomedica) and IEETA (Instituto de Engenharia Electronica e Telematica de Aveiro). It followed the three successful previous editions hosted by the Universitat de les Illes Balears (2003), Instituto de Sistemas e Robotica and Centro de Geo-Sistemas of Instituto Superior Tecnico (2005), and the Institute of Informatics and Applications of the University of Girona (2007). A total of 106 manuscripts, from 18 countries, were received. Each of these submissions was reviewed in a blind process by at least two reviewers, resulting in 62 accepted papers, 33 for oral presentation and 29 for poster presentation.Oradores convidados
